my latest project isn't going so hot, but a friend sent me this picture from when we were in high school today and it made me laugh. yeah, we were just as weird at 17 too.

here's the first print from plate # 7. it didn't scan so well, but you get the idea. i'm in the process of aquatinting it at the moment, i just wanted to get something up here because things are sorta starting to come together. for my series i'm working with sort of a theme of architecture and processes of time and decay. i'm a big fan of taking pictures of old dilapidated buildings. this is Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop on Bourbon St. in New Orleans. I added the lettering at the last minute because it needed balance on the top.

Plate # 6. here's the first printing i did, no aquatint, just line etch, to see how it turned out.

here's the finished print. (well, maybe not quite finished yet.... i'm just pondering what i want to do next.) the bricks were a pain in the ass. i told myself i wouldn't do that again. did i listen to myself? of course not... see print from plate 7...
